About Me

old wayMy name is Dr. Mariusz Urbański, and I am a Professor of Mathematics at the University of North Texas in Denton.
I joined the UNT faculty in 1991.

I received my Ph.D. from Nicolaus Copernicus University (Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika) in Toruń, Poland in 1985.
In 1991, I received my Habilitation from Mathematical Institute of Polish Academy of Science (Polska Akademia Nauk), in Warsaw.

My areas of research are dynamical systems, ergodic theory, fractal sets, conformal dynamical systems, holomorphic dynamical systems, iteration of transcendental functions, iterated function systems, thermodynamic formalism, gas lattices, statistical physics, potential theory, number theory, and topology.
